Light for Children also has sent volunteer teachers to a vocational school that teaches cooking (non-Ghanaian), fashion design, electrical wiring, and construction.

Junior high school students are 10 to 13 years old, and those in the High school are 14 to 17. There are three academic terms in Ghana:

  • September - December

  • January - April

  • May  - July

The volunteers will receive orientation for three days on the syllabus, teaching, learning materials, and education system.

The program demands a huge commitment from the applicants in this challenging and new working environment in a developing country like Ghana.

If you are interested in volunteering with Light for Children, please fill out an application form, and we will contact you.
